  Paranormal Activity Movie Review

'Paranormal Activity 3' is neither as genuinely chilling as the first film, nor does it pack as many cheap thrills as the second one did. A few jolts aside, this is largely a disappointment. To be fair, many of the same tricks from the previous films are repeated this time too: doors open and shut on their own, lights go on and off, strange reflections appear in the mirror, and dark figures appear in the hallway. These very happenings spooked us when we watched them for in the first time in the 2007 film, but now these feel like sloppy seconds…and thirds. Much of this film involves just waiting around for something to happen. It's a long, tiring wait. I'm going with two out of five for 'Paranormal Activity 3'. There's no novelty left in this idea; I was bored, and chances are you will be too.

2007. 2010. And now 2011. Ever since this low budget creep show hit the screen with its grainy footage of things that go bump in the night, the franchise has become a cult with serious fans waiting for the new one. This one's supposed to be a prequel to the earlier films and here too, except for a few scenes employing a hand-held camera, all the action is shown from three VHS machines:All is lost to the tedious intervals between each scary moment and too much of camera running into non-happening space and time. Works for a one-time watch.

In Paranormal Activity 3, the narrative is hardly what matters. This film is not a story; it's an experiment, and a successful one at that, to create horror out of very real, everyday situations. The attention to detail in order to scare you, whether visual or aural, is painstaking and remarkable. It isn't WHAT happens on screen that's important, it's HOW it happens. If, by chance, your phone goes off in your pockets while watching this film, don't be surprised to find yourself waking up on a hospital bed soon after. Paranormal Activity 3 is a must-watch for horror fans

Paranormal Activity 3 is a surprising film. Yes, horror films are expected to shock. Yet the beauty of this film lies in it managing to give you the creeps even after you have seen the first two. You realise that there isn't much new added to this one. That it does so without being cheeky or over the top, is its greatest strength.Usually, a sequel tries to outdo its original. Surprisingly, Paranormal seem to have no such aspirations with all three films relying on the same bag of tricks. That it continues to feel so fresh, is indeed the most paranormal activity in the series.
